What’s covered?
Applications of physics, engineering and computing applied to research and new clinical developments in cardiovascular medicine and surgery will be reviewed and discussed. Techniques will include electrocardiography, intracardiac electrophysiology, pacing and implantable devices, cardiac transplantation, artificial hearts, robotic surgery, and the imaging modalities of coronary angiography, echocardiography, MRI and CT. An international faculty will provide teaching and lead discussions.

Who should attend?
PhD students, new postdocs and medical physics researchers early in their careers.

Registration and further information
The school costs £795 with a discount of £100 if you register before 1 April 2011. The fee is inclusive of accommodation from Sunday night to Thursday night, and all meals from breakfast on Monday to lunch on Friday. Also included is an afternoon excursion, a special evening dinner and exploratory impromptu walks around Oxford and its colleges. Rooms are standard, based on single occupancy. A small number of bursaries to cover the school registration costs are available for PhD students from developing countries. Applications in the form of a CV, personal statement and supporting letter from your department should be sent by e-mail to for consideration by the trustees.
